The Centre for Holistic Living is a specialist therapy practice in Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. Therapist Elle Reynolds provides somatic psychotherapy, integrating both the mind and the nervous system in a body-oriented approach.
Our Approach
Somatic Psychotherapy invites the body into the healing process, deepening many of the principles of Counselling. Thoughts, emotions, and past experiences don’t just exist in the mind—they also live in our muscles, breath, and nervous system. By tuning into bodily sensations, movement, and breath, we create space for insight, self-awareness, and transformation.
Our approach is:
- Trauma-informed – We move at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
- Compassionate and person-centred – You are the expert in your own experience.
- Body-aware – We incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, and gentle somatic techniques.
- Deeply grounding – Supporting regulation of the nervous system and emotional resilience.
How Somatic Psychotherapy Can Support You
Somatic therapy can be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including:
- Stress, anxiety, and overwhelm
- Trauma and PTSD
- Emotional regulation and mood support
- Chronic tension or pain connected to stress
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or your emotions
- Recovering from burnout or exhaustion
This work is about reconnecting with yourself in a way that feels gentle, intuitive, and healing.
What to Expect in a Session
Each session is tailored to your needs and comfort level. In addition to conversation, sessions may include:
- Mindful awareness – Tuning into present-moment sensations and emotions.
- Breathwork and grounding techniques – Helping regulate the nervous system.
- Gentle movement and body awareness practices – Supporting the release of stored tension.
- Exploring patterns of holding and release – Deepening self-understanding and emotional processing.
You do not need prior experience with somatic practices—just a willingness to listen to your body’s wisdom.
Our Therapy Aims
Psychotherapy is a private and safe environment that supports you to explore the areas of life that are difficult for you. We uncover new growth and inner resources, and explore ways that you can integrate these into your life to work through the areas that have been troubling you.
In somatic and holistic work, we assume you are never ‘broken’, but that there are solutions and growth that haven’t yet become apparent. We keep exploring these ways forward while you grow and integrate new life skills and ways of being.

Client Reflections
"My body feels alive and vibrant, my mind is steadier & I'm relaxed and happy. The experience went beyond my expectations." - Client RD
"After my first session I noticed a major shift in my physical health and mental health. I made time for myself instead of worrying about "getting things done" before work each morning. My sleep improved immensely and I felt significantly calmer in situations I previously could not handle. Right away, I started feeling more open in my body." - Client Bec
"I've learned that I can be calm, relaxed and present - this was a big thing for me. My mind would usually work in overdrive, constantly. So knowing that it is possible for me to feel present and calm is a great feeling." - Client JP
