The Centre for Holistic Living is a specialist therapy practice in Coolum on the Sunshine Coast. Therapist Elle Reynolds draws on holistic and somatic practice to provide gentle, deep counselling in a safe space.

A holistic approach can include personal spirituality, deeper meaning and purpose in life, sense of connection to the natural environment and humanity, and willingness to explore the complexity and uncertainty in life. Somatic therapy integrates the inner experience of the body into the healing process.

Counselling can cover the spectrum from practical daily life to deep inner experiences. All groups of the community are welcome - all ages, sexualities, genders, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds.

Counselling can work with issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Relationships
  • Family and parental relationships
  • Communication
  • Spiritual beliefs and growth
  • Stress, overwhelm & burnout
  • Identity
  • Self esteem
  • Confidence, assertiveness & respect
  • Body relationship and eating
  • Bullying
  • Social issues
  • Ecological concerns

Counselling is a private and safe environment that supports you to explore the areas of life that are difficult for you. We uncover new growth and inner resources, and explore ways that you can integrate these into your life to work through the areas that have been troubling you. An important aspect of holistic and person-centred work is that we assume you are never ‘broken’, but that there are solutions and growth that haven’t yet become apparent. We keep exploring these ways forward while you grow and integrate new life skills and ways of being.

We also draw on a number of evidence-based counselling therapies which you may have heard of including Person Centred Counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focussed Counselling, Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy.

As a Certified Practicing Counsellor, therapist Elle Reynolds has completed postgraduate training in Somatic Psychotherapy at the Institute of Somatic Psychotherapy, holds a Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology, a Certificate in Holistic Counselling from Nature Care College, and is currently working towards her Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy with ACAP. She holds Certified Practicing Counsellor registration with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), is listed with the Australian Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (ARCAP), and is an Accredited Online Therapist with Australian Online Therapy Training. With over 15 years experience in private practice, she has supported many clients to move through difficult times, to grow in themselves and tackle new life challenges. She has been seeing many of her clients for years, off and on, and is always moved by the growth, maturation and transformation of each person as the journey of life moves forwards.
